In May
2011 Redeemer Lutheran Church of Binghamton hosted an open house to
showcase their fine organ by James Louder. Jonathan Biggers, who
had served as consultant to the church for the installation,
demonstrated the organ and shared a bit of the church's process of
acquiring the organ.
|

For our
March 2011 event we attended an excellent production of the Itamar
Moses play Bach at Leipzig. Dinner followed at Orlando's Restaurant at
the En Joie Golf Course in Endicott.
|

Our annual post holiday gathering
this year was held at the Cortese Restaurant.
|

|
The new
season was kicked off with a potluck dinner, installation of officers
and an open console at All Saints Episcopal Church, Johnson City.
|

District Convener and Past
Dean of our chapter Roberta Rowland-Raybold played a recital to benefit
the music program of St James Episcopal Church, Lake Delaware. August
15, 2010.

This year we were treated to a
leisurely midsummer trip to the village of Skaneateles, beautifully
organized by Ellie Rugg
|

A few of us attended a
June 27, 2010 recital by Oneonta Chapter member Flora Beth Cunningham
at the Old Palatine Church.
|

|
Our
annual meeting and picnic (indoors thanks to the weather) was held June
6, 2010 at the home of Bruce and Polly Wendling.
|

|
For our May meeting we
travelled north to the Dryden United Methodist Church for an Organ Plus
Workshop. There we were introduced to pieces with flute(s), horn,
clarinet and cello.
|

On April 27,2010 Jean
Henssler, John Holt, Richard Hedgebeth and Paul Stapel piled into
Paul's van and headed off to the big city for a most enjoyable day. We
visited the large French romantic style Mander organ at St. Ignatius RC
Church, enjoyed excellent dinners, and were treated to a fine recital
by
Daniel Roth, Titulaire du
Grande-Orgue, Sainte-Sulpice, Paris at the Cathedral of Saint
John the Divine.

An open house was held
April 24, 2010 in Annabel Taylor Chapel, Cornell University for the
GoArt project to reconstruct an organ by the renowned German
organbuilder Arp Schnitger that was lost in World War II.

On April 17, 2010 we met at
Tabernacle United Methodist Church for a workshop, Finding the Perfect
Registration. The workshop was led by Richard Van Auken.

Our
very well attended February 1, 2010 event
was an organist/clergy
dinner - our first since the early 90's. This was held at the
First Presbyterian Union Church in Owego. Following an excellent dinner
catered by
the ladies of the church we proceeded to the sanctuary where we were
introduced to several new hymns being used in various denominations.
The event closed with an evensong utilizing the Holden
Evening
Prayer by Marty Haugen.

October
10, 2009
occasioned an organ crawl to four organs in Norwich. We
visited the organs of Emmanuel Episcopal, UCC 1st
Congregational, Saint Bartholomew RC and Saint Paul RC with organs by
Skinner, Wicks et al,
Verschueren and Casavant respectively. An excellent luncheon at the
Coffee Connection provided a break in the day's events, beautifully
organized by new member of the Binghamton
chapter Susan Tinknor. This outing was shared with members of
the Oneonta chapter.

On
September 18, 2009
we kicked off the new year with a potluck dinner that celebrated our
80th anniversary. Our new chaplain, Pastor David Werly, was introduced,
we enjoyed a presentation of Regional Convention highlights and viewed
a portion of the Methuen Memorial Music Hall DVD.

The
2009 convention
for regions I & II was held in Boston July 1-4. Roberta
Rowland-Raybold, Polly and Bruce Wendling, Jean Henssler and Paul
Stapel attended.

Several
of us
traveled to the Palatine Church on June 21, 2009 for a delightful
program by past dean of our chapter and District Convener of the AGO
Roberta Rowland-Raybold and Katie Boardman of the Oneonta Chapter.

June 7
saw many of us
at St. Mark's Episcopal, Chenango Bridge, for an open console
presentation by several members, ending with an impromptu anthem
reading session led by Jean Henssler. We then adjourned for dinner and
the installation of our new officers and board.
